The Ris-Orangis Radiotherapy Centre is joining forces with Mars Bleu to promote colorectal cancer screening.
Free immunological tests can be obtained from your doctor or pharmacist, or ordered from the monkit.depistage-colorectal.fr website.
Colorectal cancer affects 45,000 people a year in France, most often over the age of 50. It is the 3rd most common cancer and the 2nd most deadly. However, if detected early, colorectal cancer can be cured in 9 out of 10 cases. Organised screening is free for people aged 50 to 74.
Radiotherapy is the standard treatment for rectal cancer, to reduce the size of the tumour before surgery and reduce the risk of recurrence. The CRRO offers cutting-edge techniques for the treatment of these lesions.
